The Advisory Board has announced Tim Christen as the recipient of the 2017 Hall of Fame Award. This award is given to an individual who is recognized as making significant contributions to the accounting profession. The award will be presented and Tim will be honored at the 2017 Winning is Everything conference.
Timothy Christen is Chairman and CEO of Baker Tilly Virchow Krouse, LLP (Baker Tilly). With more than 2,500 employees, Baker Tilly is the 13th largest accounting firm in the nation. In addition to serving Baker Tilly, Tim currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of the American Institute of CPAs, an organization with more than 412,000 members.
“Tim has truly been one of the great visionaries of our profession. He led the efforts to transform a small Madison, Wisconsin CPA firm into a national (and global) powerhouse. Part of his legacy, though, would be his part in developing other Baker Tilly leaders around him through his exceptional coaching and mentoring skills. Tim is all about ‘giving back’ and that is most evident in his current leadership role as Chairman of the AICPA.” states Allan Koltin, Koltin Consulting Group.
Gary Shamis of BDO USA, LLP adds, “We are very honored to have the opportunity to recognize Tim. He has had an exemplary career of success and giving back. He deserves the honor.”
Mr. Christen will be joining a long list of highly notable past recipients including the 2016 winner, Gordy Viere of CliftonLarsonAllen. The award will be presented on January 19th, 2017 at the Winning is Everything conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Winning is Everything will take place January 18th through 20th in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay.
